12/7/2011 - priest on call.
F5.6, ISO 3200, shutter 1/250, RAW, 16mm
thoughts: real life photo? or a painting? When I put this shot into Lightroom I got super excited because it’s hard to distinguish. I loaded up on the ISO on this shot as it was nighttime at the Stanford Mall. Crazy juxtaposition of here with the priest on a cell … at the stanford mall … outside the bakery. What do you guys think about it?
12/1/2011 - white collar brawl.
F8.0, ISO 100, shutter 1/250, RAW, 16mm
thoughts: i am SO thrilled with how this photo actually came out. I used the TW Alleyways preset again but flipped it to black and white. Didn’t want colors to distract from the intensity of these guys’ faces. They look so focused as if they’re going to kick someone’s ass in either a fight or a tennis match!
12/1/2011 - the man from belmont.
F7.1, ISO 200, shutter 1/250, RAW, 16mm
thoughts: I’m getting a lot more comfortable with higher apertures. teaching me to look for the *right* amount of sunlight to take a photo. Very happy with how this one came out. I used the same preset (that I created) in post processing as I did for my last post “alleyway(s)”. Definitely will be using it a hell of a lot more. If you want to download the preset feel free to do so!
Let me know your thoughts.
11/29/2011 - alleyway(s).
photo1: F20, ISO 100, shutter 1/125, RAW, 16mm
photo 2: F16, ISO 100, shutter 1/125, RAW, 16mm
thoughts: i realized today why I love taking photos of folks in alleyways. the end result always has this feeling of anonymity…also this feeling of “are they coming or going?” …i especially love when there’s good sun light so i could load up the aperture with a good shutter speed (in case anyone bikes / runs by). thoughts? what settings would you have used?
11/28/2011 - flowers and chili.
F2.8, ISO 800, shutter 1/200, RAW, 16mm
thoughts: had the pleasure to meet Shane (guy standing in the pictures). He works over at the local flower shop in downtown Palo Alto. Really nice guy (originally from New Mexico). While he was waiting for a pickup i decided to chat with him about the shop (random: I always wondered why it was located at the same place as a Hookah Bar!) and how he came to work there. He SWEARS by New Mexico chili btw and he stood firm for a good 10 minutes to tell me why New Mexico has the best chili in the world. And now, I have to find a way to get to NM!
11/26/2011 - the cove.
F4.0, ISO 100, shutter 1/160, RAW, 16mm
thoughts: my first landscape shot! taken at this beach off of highway 1 in Cali. My wife and two of our closest friends are in this picture. I love how it came out. Thoughts?
